Day 1: Australia – – Taipei
Make your way to the airport and check in in time for your overnight flight to Taipei, the capital of Taiwan.

Day 2: Taipei
Welcome to Taiwan! You arrive at Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) and will be greeted by your transfer for the journey to the hotel.
Day 3: Taipei – Taroko (B)
Jump straight into exploring Taiwan today by heading out on a Taipei city tour after breakfast. Some of the sites you’ll take in on this morning adventure include the National Revolutionary Martyrs’ Shrine, National Palace Museum, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall (CKS Memorial Hall), and the soaring Taipei 101 skyscraper. Following the city tour, the group makes it way to Taroko Gorge, travelling through the world’s fifth-longest highway tunnel and the East Coast highway enroute. There is a scenic stop at Qingshui Cliff to take photos, and the group then arrives in Taroko National Park, the location of the only marble gorge in the world.
Day 4: Taroko National Park – Chihpen (B)
You will discover parts of Taroko National Park today. The park is home to half of Taiwan’s flora and fauna species. Stop beneath the Taroko Gorge Gateway to take a photo beneath this striking archway, and you will also see the Eternal Spring Shrine, a picturesque sight with views of the surrounding mountains and waterfall, and Swallow Grotto, a point on the namesake trail that is a haven for nesting birds. The next destination on today’s itinerary is Chihpen, an area near Taitung famous for its natural hot springs. As you travel down Taiwan’s picturesque east coast, some of the pitstops you make include Sanxiantai and Siao Yeliou.
Day 5: Chihpen – Kaohsiung City (B)
It is a three-hour drive following the South Link Line towards Kaohsiung City this morning. This metropolis is the biggest city in southern Taiwan and acts as a major port. Once in the city you will board a ferry for a trip to Cijin Island, one of the city’s smallest districts. Return to the main island at Kaohsiung City and set out for the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas, a temple that sits on the banks of the Lotus Lake. While at the lake you will also see the Spring and Autumn Pavilions. This evening, choose to explore the city and take in the evening atmosphere, or wander the stalls at Liuhe Night Market, a popular go-to for tourists who can pick up souvenirs or see a variety of local foods on offer.
Day 6: Kaohsiung City – Tainan City (B, L)
The group travels from Kaohsiung City to Tainan City today. Along the way there is an excursion to the biggest monastery in Taiwan, the Fo Guang Shan Monastery. See the monastery’s collection of Buddhist statues, as well as its gardens, main shrine and nearby museum. A light vegetarian lunch is served at the Monastery. Afterwards, the group continues to make its way to Tainan City, a historic city first founded in the 16th century. A walking tour takes visitors around Anping Old Fort among other areas of the city.
Day 7: Tainan City – Sun Moon Lake – Taichung City (B)
Depart Tainan City and travel to Sun Moon Lake, located in the foothills of the country’s Central Mountain Range. Appreciate the beautiful landscape of the lake area and also visit Wen Wu Temple to take in a different vantage point of the lake. Next on the agenda are Syuentzang Temple (Holy Monk Shrine), Ita Thao Village and Ci En Pagoda. Upon arrival in Taichung City you can opt to wander around Fengjia Night Market to pick up treats from food stalls, find souvenirs, or soak up the atmosphere.
Day 8: Taichung City – Taipei (B)
Your local guide shows you the best sights of Taichung City this morning. This urban centre is Taiwan’s third-largest city, and some landmarks of note to keep an eye out for include Rainbow Village, National Taichung Theater, Calligraphy Greenway and Miyahara. In the afternoon, the group leaves Taichung City to make the two-hour drive to return to Taipei. Tonight is your final evening in Taiwan.
Day 9: Taipei – – Hong Kong (B)
Take breakfast at your Taipei hotel and then be picked up by transfer to make the trip to the airport. Board your flight bound for Hong Kong. Upon your arrival on this incredible isle, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your 5-star hotel.
Day 10: Hong Kong (B)
Say good morning to Hong Kong and tuck into breakfast at your hotel before enjoying a half-day tour of Hong Kong Island. This adventure takes you to Victoria Peak courtesy of the Peak Tram, where you will be able to gaze out across a sweeping view that includes sampans, houseboats and futuristic skyscrapers. Get a taste for local flavours and shopping opportunities at Stanley Market, and move to Aberdeen Fishing Village to perhaps sit down at one of its acclaimed seafood restaurants. While at the village, you can also see the world’s largest floating restaurant.
Day 11: Hong Kong (B)
You have today as total free time to explore the thrills of Hong Kong however you like. Foodies may head out into the streets to relish hawker food or some of the city’s fine-dining offering, while avid shoppers will no doubt want to hit the markets for souvenirs and knick-knacks. Other popular things to do in Hong Kong include Hong Kong Disneyland, Ladies Market, Ocean Park Hong Kong, Lan Kwai Fong and the Avenue of Stars.
Day 12: Hong Kong – – Australia (B)
You will be picked up at the appropriate time and taken to the airport in time to board your flight back to Australia.
Day 13: Australia
Arrive home in Australia today.
