Day 1: Australia –– Johannesburg
Depart Australia today to begin your private Africa safari!
Day 2: Johannesburg –– Victoria Falls
Arrive in Johannesburg and take your connecting flight to Victoria Falls. You will be met by a representative of Private Safaris for the transfer to your hotel, Victoria Falls Safari Club or A’Zambezi River Lodge. These luxury resorts are blending African history and the enchanting power of nature with exotic modern comforts, including afternoon tea and pastries, Sundowner Drinks, Boma Dinner and free Wi-Fi.
Later this evening, depart on a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River, a perfect way to unwind after your flight. You will have the opportunity to spot a variety of wildlife on the river cruise as you enjoy light snacks, local beer and wine.
Day 3: Victoria Falls (B,D)
Embark on a tour of the Falls this morning and discover how they were formed and what local customs and traditions surround them. The tour ends with a visit to the local art and crafts centre. Your package price includes National Park fees, the services of a qualified tour guide and bottled mineral water.
Later this evening, you will be transferred to a unique Boma Dinner and drumming show, a legendary dining and entertainment experience for your senses.
Optional tour (at your own expense): You may wish to consider a helicopter flight over the Falls, granting you access to uninterrupted views of the dramatic landscapes.
Day 4: Victoria Falls – Chobe River (B,L,D)
After breakfast, depart Victoria Falls Safari Club to Kasane Immigration to experience your water-based safari adventure on the Chobe Princess River Cruise. The drive is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. On arrival you will be met by a representative of Chobe Princess for your transfer to the cruise vessel. Enjoy a hearty lunch, followed by snacks in the late afternoon and a brief induction.
In the evening, enjoy pre-dinner drinks followed by a 3- course dinner to round off the day.
Day 5: Chobe River (B,L,D)
The morning is spent at your leisure. Explore the spectacular Chobe River on a tender boat with an experienced guide, getting close to the wildlife and birdlife of the area. For the adventurous, try your hand at tiger fishing. Enjoy a buffet lunch and take in the wonders of the beautiful Chobe River as you enjoy a leisurely cruise.
Day 6: Chobe River – Kruger National Park (B,D)
After an early morning breakfast, take a transfer to Livingstone airport for your flight to the Kruger National Park. You will be met by a representative of Maqueda Lodge at Nelspruit Airport who will arrange your transport to the lodge. Spend the afternoon at your leisure before ending the day with sumptuous 3-course dinner.
Day 7: Kruger National Park (B,D)
Today, start with an early morning game drive in the Kruger National Park. Ensure you bring your camera along as you will be spotting the BIG 5 in their natural environment. The abundance of species you will see will be an experience of a lifetime. Get up close to the animals in your specialised safari vehicle lead by an expert guide. The game drive is approximately 6-8 hours.
Day 8: Kruger National Park (B,D)
Spend the morning at your leisure, then enjoy a sunset game drive, attracting various animals not present during the day.
Day 9: Kruger National Park (B,D)
Rise early again today for your final game drive in the Kruger National Park – you might spot animals you missed on the previous days and encounter different species.
Day 10: Kruger National Park (B,D)
Today is a free day. After breakfast, you may simply wish to relax and unwind from the previous days safaris or partake in optional excursions to Swaziland or panoramic landscapes.
Optional tour (at your own expense): You may want to consider an optional Swaziland day tour at your own expense. After an early breakfast, you will visit a Swazi Village and gain insight to the Swazi culture and traditions. The tour includes an authentic African lunch, dancing and an opportunity to interact with the local community.
Optional tour (at your own expense): Panoramic Tour – Rise early for one of the most scenic tours in South Africa. The tour explores the North Eastern escarpment of the Drakensberg and includes a visit to Blyde River Canyon, Gods Window and Bourkes Potholes which is a geological phenomenon.
Day 11: Kruger National Park – Cape Town (B)
Depart the lodge for your onward flight to Cape Town, where you will be met at the airport for your transfer to your hotel, Winchester Mansions. Spend the rest of your day at leisure to explore this postcard city. Enjoy the shops and restaurants at the V&A Waterfront.
Day 12: Cape Town (B)
After breakfast you will be collected at your hotel for a short tour of Afrogem, one of the leading jewellery manufacturers in South Africa. You will have firsthand experience of how smelted gold is transformed and watch the craftsman set gems and semi-precious stones in the creation of jewellery. After, enjoy a trip up the cable car to the top of Table Mountain for some exquisite views of Cape Town! When you’re ready, make your own way back to your hotel where the rest of the day is yours at leisure.
Day 13: Cape Town (B)
This morning, enjoy a tour of Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years. The hotel will provide free shuttle services for drop-off at the V&A Waterfront where the tour departs. Upon tour completion you, take an approx. 10 min taxi drive back to your hotel and spend the rest of your day at our leisure.
Day 14: Cape Town (B)
After an early morning breakfast, enjoy a full a day tour of the Cape Peninsula. The tour includes a trip to Cape Point at the southern western tip of the Cape Peninsula with the most spectacular views. The Cape Point Nature Reserve comprises of 17300 acres of indigenous fauna and flora. Here you can see wildlife that includes baboon’s, rhebok, Cape Mountain Zebra and the elusive eland. Bird watchers will also find many fine species to observe. Visit the Boulders Beach to visit the penguin colony (entrance at your own expense). Before returning to your hotel, you will stop at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens for a short walking tour of the beautiful garden.
Day 15: Cape Town –– Australia (B)
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Cape Town International Airport for your homeward flight.
Day 16: Australia
Arrive home to Australia.
