Day 1: Australia – – Kathmandu
Today, depart Australia for Kathmandu, Nepal!
Upon arrival at the airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in.
Day 2: Kathmandu – Sightseeing Tour (B)
After breakfast take a full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Valley. Patan Durbar Square is situated at the centre of the city of Lalitpur in Nepal and is one of the three Durbar Squares in the Kathmandu Valley, all of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. One of its attractions is the ancient royal palace where the Malla Kings of Lalitpur resided. In the afternoon we visit the Bouddhanath Stupa; the largest and holiest Tibetan Buddhist temple outside Tibet. Return to the hotel and enjoy your evening at leisure.
Day 3: Kathmandu – Pokhara (B)
Today we take a long scenic drive to beautiful Pokhara (approx. 6 hours). En route you’ll be able to see Ganesh Himal and the Manaslu peak. Pokhara, the city of lakes and serenity is full of natural as well as cultural heritage sites such as caves, mountains and Buddhist and Hindu temples. Evening at leisure.
Day 4: Pokhara – Naudanda – Pokhara (B)
An early start this morning for the drive to Sarangkot, a beautiful hill famous for seeing the sunrise over the Himalaya. Enjoy a close-up look of the Annapurna, Fishtail and many others. We have a hearty breakfast at a hotel in Sarangkot and then hike to Naudada that takes about 3 hours. Return to Pokhara by car and enjoy free time in the afternoon.
Day 5: Pokhara – Peace Stupa – Pokhara (B)
After breakfast in Pokhara, we take a boat ride across the Phewa lake and hike up to the World Peace Stupa (approx. 1 hour) for fantastic views of the Lake, Himalayas and the Pokhara valley. We then hike down to Davis falls and visit the ancient and longest cave in South Asia. Drive back to Pokhara for free time in the afternoon.
Day 6: Pokhara – Chitwan (B,L,D)
After an early morning breakfast we drive to Chitwan (approx 6 hours). In the afternoon embark on a wildlife Tharu village tour.
Day 7: Chitwan (B,L,D)
Today, set out for a full day of fun jungle activities including jungle walking and an elephant back riding safari across streams and through jungles. You can also watch the elephants bathing and visit the elephant breeding centre. During dinner, enjoy a traditional Tharu cultural stick dance and show.
Day 8: Chitwan – Kathmandu (B)
This morning we go for an interesting bird watching tour to find the local species, before driving back to Kathmandu. Approx. 5 hour drive.
Day 9: Kathmandu – Bhaktapur – Kathmandu (B,D)
After breakfast we head out to Bhaktapur to visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square, highly known for its immense & tragic historical features. Heritage monuments still echo the vibrant histories of these once-upon-a-time ancient kingdoms that had separate kings who lived life to the hilt but suffered tragic defeats at the hands of the famous Gurkha King Prithvi Narayan Shah. To this day, bullet holes can still be seen on the wall of these ancient palaces. Tonight we attend a farewell dinner in one of the most famous hotels for Nepalese cuisine & while enjoying our delicious meals we will be entertained with a cultural dance performed by the local belles.
Day 10: Kathmandu – – Australia (B)
Today you will be transferred back to Kathmandu airport for your return flight to Australia.
Day 11: Australia
Arrive home today.
