Day 1: Australia – – Vancouver
Fly out of Australia and land in Vancouver. A Webjet representative will greet you and help with the transfer to the hotel.

Day 2: Vancouver (B)
You have the entire day to relax at the hotel or get out into the city and begin discovering the charms of this West Coast metropolis.
Day 3: Rocky Mountaineer First Passage of the West – Vancouver – –Kamloops (B, L)
A private coach picks you up from the hotel and transfers you to the Rocky Mountaineer station. Be welcomed onboard by Rocky Mountaineer hosts and settle into your seat as the train pulls out of Vancouver and begins the first leg of the First Passage to the West route towards Kamloops. Look out of the mammoth windows to fully take in the stunning scenery as it passes by. Some of the sights you can expect to see include dark green forests and deep valleys, winding river canyons and thundering waterways. Look out for the peaks of the Coast and Cascade mountains, the power of Hell’s Gate in Fraser Canyon, and the pretty banks of Kamloops Lake. The train arrives in Kamloops, a city perched on the confluence of the North and South Thompson Rivers, in the evening.
Day 4: Rocky Mountaineer First Passage of the West – Kamloops – – Banff Area (Canmore) (B, L)
The second leg of the Rocky Mountaineer’s First Passage of the West route starts as you are collected from the hotel and transferred to the train station. Resume your position in your selected carriage and enjoy breakfast as the train begins its scenic sojourn into the Banff area. The beauty of the heart of the Canadian Rockies lies just beyond the window on your travels today, and a look outside will see you spy Craigellachie, the location of the final spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway, as well as Rogers Pass, Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral Tunnels and many a snow-capped mountain summit. Your time on the Rocky Mountaineer concludes as the train pulls into Banff. Say goodbye to your new-found rail travel friends and meet up with the Webjet private coach for the transfer to your hotel.
Day 5: Banff Area (Canmore) (B)
Make the most of an entire day of leisure time. Choose to head into Banff aboard one of the shuttle services from Canmore (departing every 30 minutes) or strap on your walking shoes to hit one of the trails and hikes in the surrounding area. Another option is to take a drive along the Icefields Parkway, bound for the Columbia Icefield, one of the largest accumulations of ice south of the Arctic Circle.
Optional: Ice Explorer onto Athabasca Glacier
Take up the opportunity for this once-in-a-lifetime experience, heading out onto the surface of the Athabasca Glacier aboard Ice Explorer. The Ice Explorer is an all-terrain vehicle that has been specially designed for glacial travel. This excursion is led by a knowledgeable driver-guide who will share their broad knowledge about glaciers, the icefield and environmental impact upon the landscape. Please note this activity must be booked prior to departure from Australia. Additional cost applies.
Day 6: Banff Area – Lake Louise – Vernon (B)
A jam-packed itinerary for today’s adventure. Follow the Trans-Canada Highway from Banff to the banks of Lake Louise. This glittering lake is commonly referred to as the ‘Diamond in the Wilderness’ and is quickly recognisable thanks to the numerous postcards it features on. Other highlights on today’s agenda include Yoho National park, Glacier National Park and Mount Revelstoke National Park. Additional stops may cover Emerald Lake, Natural Bridge, Spiral Train Tunnels and Rogers Pass. The group arrives in Vernon in the evening and has the remainder of the day as free time.
Day 7: Vernon – Okanagan Region – Penticton (B)
Enjoy a full day discovering the riches of the Okanagan Region. Venture into the heart of this acclaimed wine-producing region and opt to stop at some of the local wineries for a tasting of recent vintages. You will also notice the scattering of fresh fruit stands along the highway. Plus there is an abundance of farmers’ markets, fruit farms and orchard tours in the area. Arrive in Penticton later on and have the evening at your leisure.
Day 8: Penticton – Vancouver (Richmond) (B)
Today marks your last day of coach travel in Canada and the final stretch to Vancouver. Along the way the group will visit the town of Hope and make a pitstop at the Othello Tunnels, a network of train tunnels and bridges that cut through granite walls and pass over the Coquihalla River. The evening is yours as free time once the group arrives in Vancouver (Richmond).
Day 9: Vancouver – – Whitehorse, Yukon (B)
Make your own arrangements to Vancouver airport for the flight to Whitehorse. On arrival in , you’ll be welcomed at the airport and transferred to your hotel in downtown Whitehorse. Get set for a 9:30 pm departure to try your luck at seeing the incredible Northern Lights. The dancing green ripple across the dark sky is truly a sight to behold, and is truly a once-in-a-lifetime moment. Although sightings of the spectacular Aurora Borealis are not guaranteed, viewings in the Yukon territory are common. Stay warm as you view the natural phenomenon from the comfort of a heated cabin or wall tent, equipped with hot drinks and snacks. Return to your hotel around 2 am.
Day 10: Whitehorse (B)
Head out this morning to take a mid-morning city tour of Whitehorse. Set out along Main Street, and continue on to iconic landmarks including the Train Depot of White Pass and Yukon Route, Log Church, Schwatka Lake and more. Spend time resting at your hotel before setting out to see the Northern Lights again tonight. Warm up in the cabin with hot drinks, or opt to sit around the roaring campfire. Return to your hotel around 2 am.
Day 11: Whitehorse (B)
This morning is yours at leisure, before preparing for your final night of Aurora viewing. This is your last chance to immerse yourself in the truly magical experience of witnessing the Northern Lights – be sure to take lots of photos!
Day 12: Whitehorse – – Australia (B)
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
