Day 1: Australia –– Kathmandu
Today, depart Australia for Kathmandu, Nepal!
Upon arrival at the airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in.
Day 2: Kathmandu (B)
After breakfast we start our tour in Kathmandu’s famous Durbar square and continue onto Swayambunath (Monkey temple) in the afternoon. Kathmandu is a wonderful mix of the ancient & the new including western influences. This sometimes makes visiting the capital an interesting place to spend time in as the old stubbornly jostles for its place with rising attractions from Europe & the west.
Day 3: Kathmandu – Pokhara (B)
This morning we drive along the scenic Trisuli and Marsyangdi Rivers towards Pokhara (approx. 6 hours). Take in the breathtaking views of Ganesh Himal and the Manaslu peak in the distance. Pokhara is a tourist’s paradise full of natural as well as cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, & temples of Buddhist and Hindus along with stunning mountains. On arrival into Pokhara, the city of lakes, we will transfer to the hotel and you can relax for the rest of the day and enjoy this beautiful town of serene lakes.
Day 4: Pokhara (B)
An early start today for the drive to Sarangkot, a beautiful hill famous for its sunrise over the Himalaya. Get a close-up view of Annapurna, Fishtail and many other peaks. We have breakfast at a hotel in Sarangkot before visiting Bindhyabasini Temple, taking a boat trip on Phewa Lake and visiting Devi’s Falls, Cave.
Day 5: Pokhara – Chitwan (B,L,D)
After an early morning breakfast, we drive to Chitwan (approx. 6 hours). In the afternoon embark on a wildlife Tharu village tour.
Day 6: Chitwan (B,L,D)
Today, set out for a full day of fun jungle activities including jungle walking and an elephant back riding safari across streams and through jungles. You can also watch the elephants bathing and visit the elephant breeding centre. During dinner, enjoy a traditional Tharu cultural stick dance and show.
Day 7: Chitwan – Kathmandu (B)
This morning we go for an interesting bird watching tour to find the local species, before driving back to Kathmandu. Approx. 5 hour dive.
Day 8: Kathmandu –– Thimpu, Bhutan (B,D)
After having breakfast at hotel, we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Bhutan! Upon arrival in Paro, clear customs and immigration. Keep your copy of the visa clearance letter handy and your visa has been paid. Meet your Guide and driver outside the terminal building and transfer to Thimphu for sightseeing around the city in the evening.
Day 9: Thimpu – Paro, Bhutan (B,L,D)
Today enjoy a full day sightseeing in Thimphu. Visit Memorial Chorten, Zilukha Nunnery, Takin Sanctuary, Indigenous Hospital, Textile Museum, and Heritage Museum, Traditional School of arts & crafts and Tashicho Dzong. We then drive to Paro.
Day 10: Hike Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang) (B,L,D)
The highlight of the day is the hike to the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang), perched precariously on the edge of a mountain and Bhutan’s most iconic temples. After the hike, we visit the National Museum, a Farm House, and Local Market.
Day 11: Paro –– Kathmandu (B)
Back to Nepal today. You will be transferred to the airport for your short flight to Kathmandu. On arrival, transfer to hotel and enjoy your last night in Kathmandu.
Day 12: Kathmandu –– Australia (B)
Today you will be transferred back to Kathmandu airport for your return flight to Australia.
Day 13: Australia
Arrive home today.
