Day 1: Australia – airplane-takeoff– Osaka

Depart Australia today on your overnight flight to Osaka.

Please note: some flights might depart 1 day later.

Day 2: Osaka (Kansai)

Upon arrival at Kansai Airport, clear customs and immigration before boarding the transfer to your accommodation. The tour guide or escort will be waiting at the arrival lobby exit gate (inside the airport) holding a ‘WEBJET’ sign. Please do not go away from the exit gate if you don’t see the tour guide immediately, the tour will come and meet you.

Day 3: Osaka – Nara – Kyoto (B)

This morning we drive to the town of Nara and visit the Todaiji Temple, one of Japan’s most famous temples. The massive building houses one of Japan’s largest bronze statues of Buddha (Daibutsu). The 15 meters tall, seated Buddha represents Vairocana and is flanked by two Bodhisattvas. Along the approach to Todaiji stands the Nandaimon Gate, a large wooden gate watched over by two fierce looking statues. Representing the Nio Guardian Kings, the statues are designated national treasures together with the gate itself. 

After the Todaiji Temple we wander back through Nara Park, home to hundreds of freely roaming deer. Considered in Shinto to be messengers of the gods, Nara’s nearly 1200 deer have become a symbol of the city. We then continue to the city of Kyoto. We begin with the UNESCO World Heritage, Kinkaku-ji, commonly known as the Golden Pavilion. A Zen temple and World Heritage site with two floors covered entirely in thin layers of pure gold and detailed architecture incorporating three distinct styles of Shinden, Samurai and Zen. 

Day 4: Kyoto – train-iconShizuoka (B)

This morning we visit Nijo Castle, the Kyoto residence of the Tokugawa Shogunate and is designated a UNESCO world heritage site. It is then on to Kinkakuji, commonly known as the Golden Pavilion. A Zen temple and World Heritage site with two floors covered entirely in thin layers of pure gold and detailed architecture incorporating three distinct styles of Shinden, Samurai and Zen. We finish with a visit to the Togetsu Bridge, the landmark of Western Kyoto’s Arashiyama District for over four hundred years. 

Later, we board the technological marvel, the Shinkansen Bullet train from Kyoto to Shizuoka. Travelling at speeds up to 280km/h it provides an incredible experience as the Japanese countryside zips by. On arrival into Hamamatsu you will be transferred to the hotel.

Day 5: Shizuoka – Mt Fuji – Tokyo (B)

This morning we make our way towards the Mount Fuji area to Lake Ashinoko. Lake Ashinoko was formed in the caldera of Mount Hakone after the volcano’s last eruption 3000 years ago. Today, the lake with Mount Fuji in the background is the symbol of Hakone. The lake’s shores are mostly undeveloped except for small towns in the east and north and a couple of lakeside. Later, we visit Oishi Park to capturea breathtaking view of Mount Fuji, Continue your tour with a visit to the Mt Fuji 5th Station, which at 2300 meters above sea level, the offers a commanding view of the Fuji Five Lakes area below. After we make our way to Tokyo.

Day 6: Tokyo (B)

Today we drive to Hama-Rikyu, a beautiful landscape garden in central Tokyo featuring seawater ponds which change level with the tides, and a teahouse on an island where visitors can rest and enjoy the scenery. Then we relax on a Sumida River cruise. Later, stroll through the Asakusa Kannon Temple one of Tokyo’s most colourful and popular temples before browsing for souvenirs atN akamise Shopping Street. Your last stop today is Shinjuku Municipal Observation Building for panoramic views of Tokyo before heading to your hotel.

Day 7: Tokyo –airplane-takeoff – Australia (B)

At the appropriate time, you will be transferred to the airport for your homeward flight.

Day 3: Osaka – Himeji – Hiroshima (B)

After breakfast we make the trip to the moving city of Hiroshima. Largely destroyed when the first atomic bomb was dropped over Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, the city became known worldwide for this unenviable distinction. Enroute, we stop in Himeji to visit the castle. The castle is regarded as the finest surviving example of prototypical Japanese castle architecture, comprising a network of 83 buildings with advanced defensive systems from the feudal period. It was registered in 1993 as one of the first UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the country. After, continue on to Hiroshima. 

Day 4: Hiroshima – Osaka (B)

Today we begin with the Peace Memorial Park and Atomic Bomb Museum, which commemorates the victims of the atomic bomb used in WWII. Then visit the Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima, where you can see the torii gate on the water at high tide. After we make our way back to Osaka.

Flight Information

 

Airline: 

  • Return economy airfare with China Southern (or similar) departing Sydney or Melbourne.
  • Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth Customers – A $300 Interstate surcharges applies per person.
  • Including minimum 23kg of checked baggage per passenger (actual limit is subject to airline).
  • One return airfare is supplied per voucher
  • Names cannot be changed once flights have been booked. 
  • The airfare remains non-refundable at all times.

Flights:

  • Note that the total length of the package includes time spent in flight as specified in the itinerary
  • Some flights may depart a day before/after, involve up to 2 transits, stopover or a substitute airline. These changes are beyond our control and will be confirmed upon booking.
  • Once your flights are confirmed and ticketed, flights are non-refundable and non-changeable. Full names (First, Middle & Surname) as per passport must be provided for ticketing.
  • Please Note, flight itineraries will not be provided until 30 days prior to departure. If your travel dates are within 30 days of purchase you will be provided with your itinerary within 7 days. 

Schedule Changes: 

  • Airline schedule changes or cancellations can happen from time to time and are beyond our control. The customer is responsible for reviewing their flight schedule prior to their departure. Webjet Exclusives endeavours to assist customers where possible, however should any change or cancellation occur, please contact your Travel Insurance provider to check whether you are covered by your policy.

Flight Variations: 

If you wish to modify the promotional airfare included in your Webjet Exclusives package, the following Flight Variations can be requested:

  • Early arrival
  • Late departure
  • Upgrade to Premium Economy or Business Class where available
  • Airline of your choice where available

 A $250 per person “breakaway” charge will apply per person plus any applicable fare and tax difference.

In order to obtain a quote for your requested variations, you must purchase your vouchers first and submit your request via the online booking form. On this form will be a section highlighted “Flight Quote Request”. You must complete the mandatory information in this section to be provided with an accurate quote.

PLEASE NOTE: No flight requests/quotes/upgrades will be actioned until your final payment has been made. After this you will be contacted in relation to your request. Payment of the breakaway fee and any applicable fare and tax difference must be paid at time of quotation in order to confirm your flights. 

Flights are booked in departure date order and we endeavour to send you this information 30 days before departure, if not sooner. 

Once flights have been confirmed and ticketed, any voluntary changes made thereafter will incur a change fee plus any fare and tax difference.

Stay behind surcharge:

If you wish to extend your trip, a $250 per person breakaway charge will apply (subject to availability and applicable fare difference). Your stay behind request must be submitted when completing your booking form. Only the return date can be altered. 

Extending your trip: 

If you wish to alter or extend your trip, please purchase your voucher first and submit a request on your booking form. Webjet Exclusives will then provide quotations for any alterations or extensions. Should you wish to proceed any additional charges will be collected.
