Day 1: Australia –

Today, depart Australia for Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. Upon arrival in Hanoi, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in.

Day 2: Hanoi – Halong Bay (B,L,D) 
After breakfast, we travel through the rich farmland of the Red River Delta to arrive at Halong Bay. Designated a World Heritage site in 1994, Halong Bay’s spectacular scatter of islands, dotted with wind and wave-eroded grottoes, is a vision of ethereal beauty.
Upon arrival, you will board your vessel to visit the thousands of limestone islands filled with caves of all shapes and sizes. The sails of junks and sampans gliding along the clear and emerald waters of the bay form a magnificent scene that blends into the sky. You will also have the opportunity to visit some of the hidden grottoes beneath the towering cliffs.
While on-board, you will also enjoy lunch and dinner plus the opportunity to participate in activities such as mini golf and cooking demonstrations.

Day 3: Halong Bay – Hanoi (B,L)
After a peaceful night’s sleep, awake early and participate in Tai Chi on the top deck or simply relax and enjoy the sunrise over the bay’s towering islands, a sight not to be missed, especially if you’re into photography. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee or tea, before setting out to explore nearby islands by rowboat. Return to take advantage of the sundeck and admire the amazing rock formations of Halong Bay. Enjoy an early lunch before disembarking the cruise. Your driver will meet you at the Halong jetty for the drive back to Hanoi in the afternoon.

Day 4: Hanoi – City Tour – – Danang – Hoi An (B,L)
After breakfast, enjoy a half day city tour with highlights such as the Temple of Literature, (Vietnam’s first university), Ho Chi Minh Complex (Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda) and Tran Quoc Pagoda, one of the oldest pagodas in Vietnam.
In the afternoon, we will transfer to the airport for the flight to Danang. On arrival, you will be transferred to the UNESCO World Heritage listed town of Hoi An. Check-in and relax.

Day 5: Hoi An – Golden Bridge Tour (B)
After breakfast, our tour guide and driver will take you to visit Golden Bridge on Ba Na Mountain. You will travel by cable car up to the Marseille station. Disembark and take a short walk to the Golden Bridge – a break point of the trip – to feel like walking on the clouds. Just newly opened to the public in early June 2018 the bridge which was built in the midst of the forest stands out in yellow. Noteworthy, this unique architecture with the bridge image supported by grey hands creates a spectacular scenery. There will be time for photos, enjoying the easy breeze and breathtaking view. Afterwards, we’ll walk further to a romantic flower garden – Le Jardin D’Amour. The 9 gardens are 9 interesting stories in 9 unique architectural styles. These create a poetic and colorful space. Next, walk to visit Linh Ung Pagoda to admire its sophisticated architecture together with a 27m high Shakyamuni statue, which provides us a peaceful feeling. Finally, we will catch the cable car downhill and then transfer back to Hoi An. Tonight, enjoy free time to explore charming Hoi An by night.

Day 6: Hoi An (B)
Today, you are free time at leisure to explore Hoi An at your own pace or you may wish to participate in an optional tour.
Optional Tour (at own expense): My Son Sanctuary & Thanh Ha Village – Depart the hotel for the 40km journey outside Hoi An. Arrive at My Son Sanctuary, a great sample of ancient Champa civilization situated in the southern region of Vietnam. Stand astounded by a great number of exquisite stone sculptures, temples and towers nestled in tropical jungle. There will also be a traditional music show that you can enjoy. Around late morning, we will journey back to Hoi An.

Day 7: Hoi An – Danang – – Ho Chi Minh City (B)
Today, we take a morning flight to Danang. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to you hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. Check in and relax.

Day 8: Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong River Cruise (B,L)
Today you will drive to the Mekong Delta River to explore the unique lifestyle of inhabitants living along the Mekong Delta. Embark on a cruise visiting the regional coconut forest and a home of Vietnamese farmers, handicrafts and culture along the Mekong Delta. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant on Turtle Island. Visit fruit and bonsai gardens, a coconut candy workshop and a rice paper mill. Bike ride or travel by horse carriage along the village road and enjoy local delicacies and tropical fruits. You’ll also visit Vinh Trang pagoda, one of the most beautiful ancient pagodas in Mekong Delta before heading back to Ho Chi Minh City this afternoon. This evening is at leisure.

Day 9: Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels – Ho Chi Minh City Dinner Cruise (B,L,D)
Today we visit Cu Chi Tunnels. During the Vietnam War, guerrilla fighters built a labyrinth of narrow tunnels, using them to hide in during bombing raids and to stage surprise attacks. Today, the remaining tunnels have become a major tourist attraction, giving visitors a unique understanding of what life was like during the Vietnam War.
In the evening, enjoy an authentic Vietnamese dinner on board a Saigon River Cruise. The Saigon River flows from Cambodia through Southern Vietnam before merging into the South China Sea. Dinner on a river cruise offers the opportunity to witness another side of Saigon.

Day 10: Ho Chi Minh City – City tour – – Australia (B)
This morning enjoy breakfast at the hotel and some free time. After check out, we take a Ho Chi Minh City tour with highlights such as Notre Dame Cathedral, Post Office, War Remnant Museum and soak up the atmosphere at Ben Thanh market, one of Ho Chi Minh’s liveliest areas. In the late afternoon, we will drive to the airport for your flight back to Australia.

The trip represented very good value for money. We selected the upgraded accommodation and in the main the hotels were quite good given their context. For example in crowded cities they were centrally located and in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City this meant relatively small rooms and a location on busy streets. The rooms were however clean and well furnished with good amenities. In our case the rooms where well away from the noise of the street. Our guides were excellent and willing to respond to special requests from members of the group. They provided helpful commentary,made it clear when we needed to meet and were always on time . They insured we made it smoothly onto our transport.

Every aspect of this holiday was beyond expectation, from the 5 star hotel accommodation, the never ending banquets, the knowledgeable and fluent English speaking guides and the spectacular sights and attractions, to the warm and hospitable Vietnamese people. The value for money was excellent, could not have arranged this standard of holiday ourselves for the money - outstanding value. We will be looking for similar deals from this company in the future.
