Day 2: Arrive Nairobi
On arrival at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation.
Day 3: Nairobi – Maasai Mara (B,L,D)
This morning you depart on your safari adventure. Drive to the world famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve arriving in time for lunch. Maasai Mara, Kenya’s greatest wildlife reserve, is without a doubt Africa’s most famous safari destination. The Maasai Mara Ecosystem is where over two million wildebeest and zebra migrate annually. It also holds one of the highest lion densities in the world, which is why it the home of the BBC wildlife channel’s Big Cat Diary. Other game includes leopard, cheetah, buffalo, rhino, elephant, giraffe, zebra, lion, plains game, crocodile and small mammals including mongoose, hyrax, dik dik and the nocturnal porcupine. Enjoy a late afternoon game drive. Approximately 5-6 hours driving time today.
Day 4: Maasai Mara (B,L,D)
A full day game viewing in the Maasai Mara. The abundance and variety of game in this reserve is nothing short of amazing. Nearly every mammal can be seen in the Maasai Mara, including various antelopes, scavengers like hyena and vultures, and all the cats (lion, cheetah and leopard). Sighting a leopard needs luck more than just being there, but lions are abundant and there are excellent chances for spotting cheetah. The hippo pool is a popular spot to watch out for hippos and with some luck, you might catch a crocodile basking on the rocks. Elephants, buffalo, the giraffe, wildebeest and the common zebra abound. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Maasai Mara – Lake Naivasha (B,L,D)
This morning we commence our journey to Lake Naivasha. There is the option to visit a Maasai village to get an insight into their culture and traditions. In the late afternoon you might enjoy the option of taking a boat ride on the lake to see the myriad birdlife. Approximately 5 hours driving time today.
Day 6: Lake Naivasha to Amboseli (B,L,D)
Today drive to Amboseli National Park nestled at the foothills of Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. Amboseli is a top destination in Kenya for wildlife. Indeed, one of the classic images of East Africa is that of a herd of elephant strolling across the plains with the snow-capped peak of Kilimanjaro in the background. It is to catch this sight that people flood to Amboseli National Park. While Kilimanjaro is actually across the border in Tanzania, Amboseli has a perfect view of the world’s tallest free-standing mountain, rising an impressive 5895 metres above the plains. Approximately 7 hours driving time today.
Day 7: Amboseli, Kenya – Arusha, Tanzania (B,L)
The best time to view the majestic mountain is at dawn, when the clouds lift and the light is clear and soft. Take a morning game drive to witness the African sunrise lighten the majestic mountain, distributing its golden rays to the dry savannah of Amboseli National Park. It’s a great photo opportunity. After this game drive you depart for Arusha, Tanzania! Tonight is at leisure so you might like to try a local restaurant. Approximately 3-4 hours driving time today.
Day 8: Arusha – Tarangire National Park (B,L,D)
This morning you will travel to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is one of Tanzania’s largest national parks and boasting a variety of wildlife as diverse as its landscape. The park is well known for its large elephant population and majestic baobab trees. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lion, leopard, cheetah and up to six thousand elephants. Enjoy your afternoon game drive. Approximately 2 hours driving time today.
Day 9: Tarangire – Manyara – Lake Eyasi (B,L,D)
This morning you can enjoy some time at the lodge before traveling to Lake Manyara National Park. Your day will be spent game viewing within Lake Manyara, which is famous for its tree climbing lions and large elephant population. It’s ground water forests, bush plains, baobab strewn cliffs, and algae-streaked hot springs offer incredible ecological variety in a small area, rich in wildlife and incredible numbers of birds. After your game drive travel to Lake Eyasi. Approximately 2-3 hours driving time today.
Day 10: Lake Eyasi – Serengeti (B,L,D)
The area around Lake Eyasi is inhabited by the Hadzabe Bushmen, some of the last remaining hunter-gatherers on the African continent. This indigenous tribe are living in true harmony with nature and are well known for their communication via clicking rather than speech. You will enjoy observing their hunting with bows and arrows as well as experiencing their way of life. During the afternoon, you will commence your drive to the most famous park in Africa, The Serengeti! Approximately 3-4 hours driving time today.
Day 11: Serengeti (B,L,D)
Today you have a full day to enjoy the Serengeti! This can be early morning and afternoon game drives or take lunch boxes for a full day game drive. The Serengeti is home to millions of wildebeest during the migration and over the huge flat plains you are likely to find lion, cheetah, leopard, hyena and many other small predators.
Day 12: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater (B,L,D)
An early start this morning, in the hope of finding cats during their active time and before they retreat away from the blazing sun during the day. After a few hours’ game drive in the Serengeti drive to the Ngorongoro Crater rim. Approximately 3 hours driving time today.
Day 13: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha (B,L)
Today you will journey into the heart of this amazing, wonderous crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is arguably one of the locations to see in Africa, providing a unique opportunity to see world class game viewing in a spectacular setting. Ngorongoro is unique in that almost all the wildlife live within the crater walls hence you have the opportunity to find game easily. There are over 50 different species of large mammals, including lions, elephants, rhinos, hippos, giraffes, eland, impala, baboons, warthogs and hyenas. Enjoy your morning game drive and after lunch by the hippo pond, travel back to Arusha. Tonight is at leisure so you might like to try a local restaurant. Approximately 3-4 hours driving time today.
Day 14: Arusha – Kilimanjaro airport –– Zanzibar (B)
Today you will be transferred back to Kilimanjaro airport, in time for your flight to the beautiful island of Zanzibar. Upon arrival at Zanzibar airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
Day 15: Zanzibar (B)
Today is yours to do as little or as much as you like. Relax by the pool or organise a day trip (additional cost). This might include snorkelling, swimming with dolphins, a sunset cruise, scuba diving, spice tour or visiting Stone Town.
Day 16: Zanzibar (B)
Day of leisure to enjoy this picturesque island.

Day of leisure to enjoy this picturesque island.
Day 18: Zanzibar –– Australia (B)
Today you will be transferred back to Zanzibar airport for your onward flight home.
