Including return flights, all hotel and lodge accommodation, open-air game drives in Kruger National Park, travel along South Africa’s scenic Garden Route, delicious daily breakfast, and more.
South Africa is well-known as a go-to destination for travellers wanting an authentic safari experience. But there is more to this spectacular country than just safari, and this 17 day tour sees you take in not only the best of Kruger National Park but also the beauty of South Africa’s Garden Route.
The safari feature of your tour is up first as you catch a one-way flight from Johannesburg to Nelspruit, the airport gateway to Kruger National Park. You’ll be staying in the park at a luxury lodge. Your time at Kruger National Park covers two open-air game drives (keep a keen eye out for Africa’s Big 5), ample leisure time and the opportunity to take up additional excursions and activities. Every night you’re at the lodge you can gather with your travelling companions and other guests over a sumptuous 3-course dinner to share stories about the day’s wildlife encounters and adventures.
From Kruger National Park the tour moves onto the Garden Route, a scenic road covering almost 200 kilometres of coast-hugging road traversing national parks, untouched beaches and verdant landscape. On your travels along the Garden Route expect to board a lagoon-skimming ferry to Featherbed Nature Reserve in Knysna; visit an ostrich farm to learn about this interesting industry; head underground at Cango Caves at Oudtshoorn; and keep fingers crossed in the hopes of a whale sighting at Hermanus. Make your way to Cape Town for the final leg of your African trip; enjoying a full-day guided tour of the Cape Peninsula, a stop at Afrogem and a trip up to the summit of Table Mountain.
