Day 2: Johannesburg  – airplane-takeoff – Kruger National Park (B,D) 

On arrival to Johannesburg airport you will transit for your flight through to Nelspruit (Kruger National Park). Upon arrival at Nelspruit, you will be met by a representative of your lodge and transferred to your luxury accommodation for the next four nights. Kruger is famous for its high density of wild animals includes the Big 5: lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffalos. Hundreds of other mammals also make their home here.

Day 3: Kruger National Park (B,D)   lion-icon

Today, start with an early morning game drive (6-7 hours) in the world renowned Kruger National Park. Ensure you bring your camera along as you will be spotting the BIG 5 in their natural environment. The abundance of species you will see will be an experience of a lifetime. Get up close to the animals in your specialised safari vehicle lead by an expert guide. Later this evening, enjoy a sumptuous 3 course dinner while swapping stories of your animal encounters earlier in the day.

Rise early again today for your second game drive (6-7 hours) in the Kruger National Park – you might spot animals you missed yesterday or encounter different experiences. Keep your eyes open! 

Day 5: Kruger National Park (B,D) 

Today enjoy a free day, alternatively you might enjoy an optional tour. 

Optional tour (at your own expense): You may want to consider an optional Swaziland day tour at your own expense. After an early breakfast, you will visit a Swazi Village and gain insight to the Swazi culture and traditions. The tour includes an authentic African lunch, dancing and an opportunity to interact with the local community.  

Optional tour (at your own expense): Panoramic Tour –  Rise early for one of the most scenic tours in South Africa. The tour explores the North Eastern escarpment of the Drakensberg and includes a visit to Blyde River Canyon, Gods Window and Bourkes Potholes which is a geological phenomenon.

Day 6: Kruger National Park –  airplane-takeoff – Johannesburg – Pretoria (B) 

After breakfast you will be transferred to Nelspruit Airport for your onward flight to Johannesburg. On arrival at Johannesburg Airport, you will be met by a representative of Webjet for your transfer to your hotel in Pretoria for your overnight stay. After check in, relax and enjoy the day at your leisure. 

Day 7: Pretoria – train-icon On board the Rovos Rail (B,L,D)

Today, you will be transferred to the station to board the incredible Rovos Rail. Step on board in to the opulence and old world charm that makes the Rovos Rail one of the greatest train journey’s in the world. Lunch is served in the dining cars as the train travels north through Warmbaths and Nylstroom, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn. Enjoy afternoon tea and dinner en route to Messina and Beitbridge for Zimbabwe border formalities.

Day 8: On board the Rovos Rail (B,L,D) train-icon

Today is a day at leisure to watch the African savannah drift by from the luxury of your stateroom. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served as the train travels towards Bulawayo via Rutenga and Somabhula. Overnight stop on board at Mpopoma.

Day 9: On board the Rovos Rail (B,L,D) train-icon

Breakfast is served as the train departs Mpopoma. Enjoy lunch while travelling along the eastern edge of Hwange Park along one of Africa’s longest stretches of straight railway line – 114 kilometres. After lunch we arrive at Kennedy Siding to disembark the train for a game drive at “The Hide” reserve in the Hwange National Park. Hwange National Park is well-known for its large herds of elephants which are famous across Africa and with over 100 species of mammals, you are guaranteed to have a once in a lifetime safari experience. Reboard the train then dinner is served in the dining cars en route to Thompsons Junction for the overnight stop on board the train.

Day 10: On board the Rovos Rail –train-icon – Victoria Falls (B)

This morning after breakfast, you will disembark from the Rovos Rail. You will be met at the train station by a representative of Webjet who will transfers you to your hotel, A Zambezi River Lodge, nestling on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. Later the afternoon you will enjoy a sundowner cruise on the Zambezi River. It is a superb way to relax and enjoy the beauty of the River. You will have the opportunity to see a variety of game including hippos, crocodiles and a variety of bird species.

Day 11: Victoria Falls (B,D)

After breakfast, enjoy the spectacular and informative tour of the Falls. You will discover how the Falls was formed and traditions that surround them. After the tour of the tour of the Falls you may consider booking the following activities (for your own account and must be booked at the time of your booking the tour) . 

13-minute helicopter flight over the Falls – The ‘Flight of the Angels” is a majestic and scenic flight over the Victoria Falls 

Later the evening, enjoy a Boma dinner which is not only an authentic African dinner but a cultural experience.  

Day 12: Victoria Falls –airplane-takeoff – Cape Town (B) 

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Victoria Falls Airport for your onward flight to Cape Town. On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be met by a representative of Private Safaris who will assist you with the transfers to your hotel, Winchester Mansions which is situated between the famous Table Mountain and V & A Waterfront. Refresh and relax and spend the rest of your day at your Leisure. 

Day 13: Cape Town – Franschhoek – Cape Town (B) 

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Franschhoek for your wine tram tour. Nestled between towering mountains in the beautiful Cape wine lands lies the magnificent Franschhoek Valley. This is the food and wine heartland of the country, where splendid wines are grown and top chefs create international cuisine. Here breath-taking scenery, warm hospitality, world class cuisine and the finest wines all combine to create lasting memories. The wine tour is a combination of tram and tram bus that will transport you around a loop of seven stops allowing you to hop off at each stop and experience the activities on offer, may it be wine tasting on a cellar tour or lunch. 

Day 14: Cape Town (B) 

After breakfast you will be collected at your hotel for a 30 minute tour of Afrogem, one of the leading jewellery manufactures in South Africa. You will have firsthand experience of how smelted gold is transformed and watch the craftsman set gems and semi-precious stones in the creation of jewellery. After, enjoy a trip up the cable car to the top of Table Mountain for some exquisite views of Cape Town! When you’re ready, make your own way back to your hotel where the rest of the day is yours at leisure. Taxis are available at the Cable Car station for your transfer to your hotel.

Day 15: Cape Town (B) 

Bring your camera for a full day Cape Peninsula tour! We are heading for Cape Point at the south western tip of the Cape Peninsula with the most spectacular views in the world. The tour begins with a scenic drive along the Atlantic Coast, passing through Camps Bay and the fishing village of Hout Bay. The trip continues to Cape Point Nature Reserve, comprising of 17,300 acres of indigenous flora and fauna. Here you can see a variety of wildlife which includes baboons, rheebok and the elusive eland. Witness the union of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. On route back to your hotel we also visit the penguin colony at the Boulders Beach (entry on your own account). The last stop is at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens for a short walk through the beautiful gardens.

Once on board, settle in to your Deluxe Suite and get ready for your first opulent dinner. Shortly after boarding, the Rovos departs travelling in a south easterly direction to Zimbabwe’s largest reserve, Hwange National Park. Dinner is served in the dining cars en route to Kennedy Siding for the overnight stop.

Day 9: On board the Rovos Rail (B,L,D) train-icon

This morning, wake early with a quick continental breakfast, before disembarking the train to for a game drive at “The Hide” reserve in the Hwange National Park. Hwange National Park is well-known for its large herds of elephants which are famous across Africa and with over 100 species of mammals, you are guaranteed to have a once in a lifetime safari experience. Reboard the train in time for brunch before the train leaves and travels along one of Africa’s longest stretches of straight railway line to Bulawayo. Tonight, dinner is served en route to the Beitbridge.

Day 10: On board the Rovos Rail (B,L,D) train-icon

Breakfast is served as the train leaves baobab country, travelling in a Southerly direction. Enjoy the Savannah as lunch is served as the train crosses the Tropic of Capricorn towards Warmbaths and Nylstroom. Tonight, dinner is served as the train passes the edge of the escarpment before overnight near Pyramid.

Day 11: On board the Rovos Rail – train-icon– Pretoria (B)

This morning, breakfast is served on the train just before your arrival in Pretoria. You will be met by a representative of the hotel and transferred for your overnight stay at the Court Classique Hotel in Pretoria. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 12: Pretoria – Johannesburg –airplane-takeoff– Kruger National Park (B,D) lion-icon

Flight Information

 

Airline information: 

  • Return economy airfare departing Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide or Perth with Emirates, Qatar Airways, South African Airways and their codeshare partners or similar 
  • We are unable to guarantee which airline you will travel with as flights will be booked subject to promotional fare availability for your travel dates.
  • Including 23 kgs of checked luggage on per passenger
  • One return airfare is supplied per voucher
  • Extend your stay by request when submitting your booking form
  • Names cannot be changed once flights have been booked. Once we receive your form and your dates are available, your booking will be completed – no further changes will be possible.
  • The airfare remains non-refundable at all times.
  • All Children (7-11 years) must occupy their own seat.
  • Victoria Falls extension: Due to the arrival times of some flights, it may not be possible to connect to Victoria Falls on the same day. A pre-night in Johannesburg might be required (at own expense) or alternative dates chosen to when alternative connecting flight options are available.
  • All bookings will be held and confirmed with you before booking.

Flights Conditions:

  • Note that the total length of the package includes time spent in flight as specified in the itinerary
  • We encourage you to finalise your booking with as soon as possible.
  • Some flights may depart a day before, involve a transit, stopover or a substitute airline. These changes are beyond our control and will be confirmed upon booking.
  • Any changes to flight itineraries once the accommodation and tour bookings have been confirmed will incur a charge of $100 per person
  • Once your flights are confirmed and ticketed, flights are non-refundable and non-changeable. Full names (First, Middle & Surname) as per passport must be provided for ticketing.
  • Please note, flight itineraries will not be provided until 30 days prior to departure. If your travel dates are within 30 days of purchase you will be provided with your itinerary within 7 days.
  • Please also note, flights might arrive or departure 1 day early or later than suggested on the itinerary due to scheduling, they might involve multiple stopovers or airlines changes
