Highlights

Head to spectacular South Africa for an unforgettable experience, taking in everything from safari and cities to the gorgeous coast, on a 16 day Highlights of South Africa tour.

Vibrant Johannesburg is your first touchpoint for this extraordinary adventure through South Africa. You’ll have some time to explore on your own before meeting your fellow safari-seekers in a tour briefing. Move onto Pretoria and then into Mpumalanga Province, the home of one of South Africa’s most epic sites: Kruger National Park. As well as heading into the park on an exhilarating open-air safari to spot lions, elephants, rhino, leopards and more, your time in the area also sees you traverse the stunning (and aptly-named) Panorama Route. Spend time in both Swaziland and Zululand, getting to know unique customs and cultures. Shop for souvenirs in buzzing Ezulwini Craft Market and see Zululand from a watery vantage point with a cruise on Lake St. Lucia. Depart for Durban and take advantage of free time to walk the city’s golden-sand beaches.

A one-way flight transports you to the beginning of South Africa’s famed Garden Route. Admire the turquoise water on a lagoon cruise to Featherbed Nature Reserve near Knysna, learn about the history of ostrich farming and see Cango Caves in Oudtshoorn, and take up the option to spend time in South Africa’s Cape Winelands in Franschhoek. Return to Cape Town and uncover the charms of this thriving city, from the beautiful outlooks atop Table Mountain and the arts and culture scene, to the astounding natural wonders of the nearby Cape Peninsula. The latter is explored on a full-day guided tour, including Cape Point.
