Day 3: Zurich (B)
Your first full day in Switzerland is yours for the taking – do and see this city however you fancy. Zurich is a global business and financial hub, but is also home to excellent museums, striking monuments, boutique-scattered boulevards and more. Take in two of Zurich’s most recognisable landmarks – Grossmünster and Fraumünster – or get a retail fix with the shops strewn along the city’s main street, Bahnhofstrasse. Wander the cobbled streets of the Old Town and learn about the area’s medieval history, or stroll along the waterfront promenades for ample photo opportunities.
Day 4: Zurich – – Lucerne (B)
Take a rail transfer to Lucerne. Located in the German-speaking area of Switzerland, Lucerne is a small yet stylish city that is popular for its Old Town and historical architecture. Its photogenic perch – tucked between a lake and the mountains – makes it even more appealing to travellers.
Day 5: Lucerne – – Lugano (B)
Your first scenic rail journey of the tour takes you from Lucerne to Lugano aboard the Gotthard Panorama Express. This route is spectacular and also includes a lake cruise from Lucerne to Flüelen. Lugano, your destination, sits within the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland and the Italian influence extends as far as the architecture and culture. Upon arrival in Lugano, find your way to the hotel for check in and then enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Talk a stroll around the banks of Lake Lugano, visit LAC Lugano Art Centre, or jump into a cable car to ascend the side of Monte San Salvatore and be rewarded with gorgeous views of the surrounding landscape.
Please note that the Gotthard Panorama Express does not operate on Mondays. Should travel on this day fall on a Monday, the Gotthard Panorama Express will be replaced with similar trains that service the same route.

Today you travel on the Bernina Express to move from Lugano to St. Moritz. This route crosses through the Engadin Alps and a section of it also runs along the Rhaetian Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You arrive in St. Moritz and have free time. A popular must-see for visitors is Gornergrat, a ridge that offers glorious views of the neighbouring mountains and landscape.
