Day 1: Australia –airplane-takeoff – Osaka

Depart Australia today on your overnight flight to Osaka.

Day 2: Osaka (Kansai Area)

Welcome to Japan! You will arrive at Osaka Kansai airport. Following customs, immigration formalities and baggage collection. Then make your own way to your hotel.

Please note: You have been provided with a 7 day JR Rail Pass. Please do not activate your rail pass this day.

Osaka is Japan’s second largest metropolitan area after Tokyo. It has been the economic powerhouse of the Kansai region for many centuries. Osaka was formerly known as Naniwa. Before the Nara Period, when the capital used to be moved with the reign of each new emperor, Naniwa was once Japan’s capital city, the first one ever known.

Day 3: Osaka (B)

Today, you’ll need to activate your JR Rail Pass voucher. This can be done at any major train station at the JR Office. JR staff speak good English and make the whole process easy and understandable. Once your pass is activated, take an express train to Shin-Osaka and check-in to your Osaka city hotel. Once settled in, you are free to explore Osaka.

Upon arrival at Nara. It is a short walk to the main attractions. We recommend visiting the Todaiji Temple, one of Japan’s most famous temples. On your return to the station, wander back through Nara Park, home to hundreds of freely roaming deer. Considered in Shinto to be messengers of the gods, Nara’s nearly 1200 deer have become a symbol of the city.

Reboard the bullet train for Kyoto! Kyoto attracts millions of visitors every year and it’s no wonder. With over 1,600 Buddhist temples, 400 Shinto shrines, palaces and gardens, who wouldn’t want to visit? You might be lucky enough to spot a Geisha in the old district.

Day 5: Kyoto (B)

Today is a free day at leisure.

Day 6: Kyoto – train-icon – Mt Fuji Area (B)

When ready, head back to Kyoto JR station to board the bullet train to the Mt Fuji region. On arrival, make your way to your hotel before enjoying the rest of the day at your own leisure.

Day 7: Mt Fuji Area (B)

Today is a free at leisure.

Day 8: Mt Fuji Area –  train-icon– Tokyo (B)

Today make the train trip to Tokyo, Japan’s mega city! Tokyo, Japan’s bustling capital, mixes the ultramodern and the traditional, from neonlit skyscrapers and anime shops to cherry trees and temples. The opulent Meiji Shinto Shrine is known for its towering gate and surrounding forests. The Imperial Palace sits amid sprawling public gardens. The city is famed for its vibrant food scene, and its Shibuya and Harajuku districts are the heart of its trendy teen fashion scene.

Day 9: Tokyo – airplane-takeoff – Australia (B)

Today there is free time before transferring yourself to the airport to board your homeward flight. Tokyo is serviced by two airports, Narita and Haneda, both are accessible using your JR Rail Pass.

Day 10: Australia

Today a city tour of Kyoto is included as part of your package. The tour will take you to the UNESCO World Heritage Kiyomizu-dera Temple and drink to your fortune from the streams of the Otowa Waterfall. Also visit Nijo Castle, the Kyoto residence of the Tokugawa Shogunate and is designated a UNESCO world heritage site. Before visiting Kinkakuji, commonly known as the Golden Pavilion. A Zen temple and World Heritage site with two floors covered entirely in thin layers of pure gold and detailed architecture incorporating three distinct styles of Shinden, Samurai and Zen.

Day 6: Kyoto – train-icon – Mt Fuji Area (B)

When ready, head back to Kyoto JR station to board the bullet train to the Mt Fuji region. On arrival, make your way to your hotel before enjoying the rest of the day at your own leisure.

Day 7: Mt Fuji Area (B)

This morning, take a train to Shizuoka Station and arrive there by 10:15 at Shinkansen Ticket Gate for your Mt Fuji Day tour. Begin your tour with Nihondaira Ropeway, it brings you all the way to Kunozan Toshogu Shrine where you can view Mt.Fuji form a distance. Then return and travel to Nihondaira Ocha Kaikan, in this tea plantation here, you have a stunning view of Mt Fuji. Last stop is Mt. Fuji 2 nd station, you can enjoy the view from the mountain. The tour finishes in Mishima Station then you will need to take a train back to your hotel.

Deposit Information:

  • A deposit of $199 per person plus any applicable surcharges are due at the time of purchase in order to secure your date. We offer a FREE date change policy allowing you to change your departure date any time up until your 2nd instalment payment is made.
  • Final Payment is due 60 days after initial deposit. Once this payment is made, no cancellations or amendments are permitted and all prior payments become strictly non-refundable. If you book within 90 days of travel, you will be sent an invoice within 7 days for final payment. Flight Information

 

Airline: 

  •  Return economy airfare with China Southern (or similar) departing Sydney or Melbourne.
  • Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth Customers – A $300 Interstate surcharges applies per person.
  • Including minimum 23kg of checked baggage per passenger (actual limit is subject to airline).
  • One return airfare is supplied per voucher
  • Names cannot be changed once flights have been booked. 
  • The airfare remains non-refundable at all times.

Flights:

  • Note that the total length of the package includes time spent in flight as specified in the itinerary
  • Some flights may depart a day before/after, involve up to 2 transits, stopover or a substitute airline. These changes are beyond our control and will be confirmed upon booking.
  • Once your flights are confirmed and ticketed, flights are non-refundable and non-changeable. Full names (First, Middle & Surname) as per passport must be provided for ticketing.
  • Please Note, flight itineraries will not be provided until 30 days prior to departure. If your travel dates are within 30 days of purchase you will be provided with your itinerary within 7 days. 

Schedule Changes: 

  • Airline schedule changes or cancellations can happen from time to time and are beyond our control. The customer is responsible for reviewing their flight schedule prior to their departure. Webjet Exclusives endeavours to assist customers where possible, however should any change or cancellation occur, please contact your Travel Insurance provider to check whether you are covered by your policy.

Flight Variations: 

If you wish to modify the promotional airfare included in your Webjet Exclusives package, the following Flight Variations can be requested:

  • Early arrival
  • Late departure
  • Upgrade to Premium Economy or Business Class where available
  • Airline of your choice where available

 A $250 per person “breakaway” charge will apply per person plus any applicable fare and tax difference.

In order to obtain a quote for your requested variations, you must purchase your vouchers first and submit your request via the online booking form. On this form will be a section highlighted “Flight Quote Request”. You must complete the mandatory information in this section to be provided with an accurate quote.

PLEASE NOTE: No flight requests/quotes/upgrades will be actioned until your final payment has been made. After this time our Flight specialists will contact you in relation to your request. Payment of the breakaway fee and any applicable fare and tax difference must be paid at time of quotation in order to confirm your flights. 

Flights are booked in departure date order and we endeavour to send you this information 30 days before departure, if not sooner. 

Once flights have been confirmed and ticketed, any voluntary changes made thereafter will incur a change fee plus any fare and tax difference.

Stay behind surcharge:

If you wish to extend your trip, a $250 per person breakaway charge will apply (subject to availability and applicable fare difference). Your stay behind request must be submitted when completing your booking form. Only the return date can be altered. 

Extending your trip: 

If you wish to alter or extend your trip, please purchase your voucher first and submit a request on your booking form. Webjet Exclusives will then provide quotations for any alterations or extensions. Should you wish to proceed any additional charges will be collected. However if you are unhappy with the options a full refund of the voucher will be provided.
