Highlights

Take in the sights of ever-bustling Singapore and then jet off to a resort of lavish villas and all-inclusive dining with this 10 day Singapore and all-inclusive Maldives package.

For such a small place, Singapore certainly packs a lot in. This city state is near-to-overflowing with things to do, see, eat and experience. How much you tick off during your three nights in the city is up to you. First-time visitors to this vibrant destination will likely want to see the big names – Gardens by the Bay, Sentosa Island and Marina Bay Sands. While those here for a repeat visit may instead choose to focus on uncovering more off-the-beaten path delights, such as independent galleries, quirky boutiques and local gems only a few tourists get to discover. No matter how your days in Singapore are spent, look forward to returning to your hotel – the 5-star Grand Park Orchard – at whatever time of afternoon, evening or otherwise. Daily breakfast is included for your stay, and the hotel also has a Cantonese-inspired restaurant and an alfresco terrace bar, plus an outdoor swimming pool and fully-equipped gym, for you to make use of.

The next part of your package takes you to one of the world’s most coveted island destinations: the Maldives. This spectacular archipelago is synonymous with white-sand beaches, crystal-clear oceans, and want-for-nothing resorts. Happily, that is exactly what awaits you once you arrive via speedboat transfer at Centara Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives. This 5-star sanctuary embodies everything you would want from an unforgettable escape, and it extends to your choice of villa while you’re here. Take your pick of an Oceanfront Beach Villa, Deluxe Water Villa, Deluxe Sunset Water Villa or Deluxe Overwater Villa. No matter which you choose – a villa on a quiet beachfront, a villa perfectly angled to admire sunsets, or one with its own sundeck-perched spa – you get to experience all this fantastic resort has to offer. A part of that is an all-inclusive meals and drinks package. Head to Oceans restaurant for buffet breakfasts, lunches and dinners, or take advantage of the exclusive Dine Around benefit that enables you to sit down to multi-course or a la carte lunches and dinners at the resort’s other three restaurants. (Please note this is subject to prior reservation).

So how can you while away the sun-kissed Maldives day? There are no shortage of options at your fingertips. Grab a snorkel and wade out to the island’s house reef to uncover this magical underwater world, or embrace faster-paced activities with non-motorised water sports equipment such as canoes, kayaks and paddle boards. Make languid laps in the resort’s main beachfront infinity pool, or nab a perch at the swim-up bar located in the second pool. The on-site spa is sure to appeal to those keen on being pampered with massages and signature treatments, and those wanting to see more of the Maldives can arrange half- and full-day excursions through the hotel (at additional cost). There is also the PADI Dive Centre, a stash of DVDs and video games in the E-Zone, and daily morning teas and sundowner canapes to put on your radar.

Put off heading home a little bit longer by upgrading your Maldives stay to a 12 day package.

Day 1: Australia – airplane-takeoff – Singapore

Head to the airport and board your Singapore Airlines flight to Singapore, one of the most exciting cities in South East Asia. Land at the sprawling Singapore Changi Airport and make your way to your hotel for this start-of-trip stopover: the 5-star Grand Park Orchard hotel.

Check into your room and drop off your luggage. How to spend the rest of the day – and the next few days – is entirely up to you. Your Singapore stopover has no set sightseeing agenda or itinerary, and where you go, what you do, and which experiences you undertake is completely at your discretion. As well as uncovering the charms of Singapore, don’t forget to plan to discover everything the hotel offers too. This sleek stay has an outdoor swimming pool, 24-hour gym, alfresco terrace bar, and excellent restaurant that dishes up Cantonese cuisine and lip-smacking cocktails.

Day 2: Singapore (B)

Choose to either wake early or treat yourself to a lie-in before having breakfast at the hotel in anticipation of a big day of exploration. Grand Park Orchard sits in the heart of one of Singapore’s most fashionable areas: near Orchard Road, the famed boulevard lined with high-end boutiques and swanky department stores. A stroll along this shopper’s heaven is a must-do for any first-time visitor to Singapore, devotees of retail therapy, or those content with simply browsing the glittering window displays. Some of the other landmarks to put on your radar include Gardens by the Bay, Sentosa Island, Marina Bay Sands and Fort Canning Park.

Day 3: Singapore (B)

Singapore is arguably one of the best food cities in the world. Local cuisine has long been influenced by the flavours of China, Malaysia and more, and the result is a style of fare that has gained worldwide recognition. One of the best places to sink your teeth into Singaporean tastes is at the hawker centres – some of the top go-tos include Maxwell Food Centre, Chomp Chomp Food Centre and Chinatown Complex Food Centre. Stalls at hawker centres tend to specialise in one dish; meaning there is a seemingly endless world of plates for you to try, relish and devour. Some dishes to look out for include satay, chilli crab, chwee kueh, Hainanese chicken rice, carrot cake and char kway teow. At the other end of the dining scale are the city’s line-up of fine institutions – think those that enjoy internationally-acclaimed reputations, Michelin stars, and the unwavering adoration of locals. Put simply, whatever your tastes, Singapore has something to please your palate!

Day 4: Singapore – airplane-takeoff – Maldives (B, D)

This is your final morning in Singapore. Have breakfast at the hotel and make your way, at the appropriate time, back to Singapore Changi Airport to catch the flight that whisks you to Male, the capital of the Maldives. A speedboat transfers awaits your arrival and is ready to take you to your Maldives stay, the 5-star Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa. This adults-only getaway sits on an untouched island in the North Male Atoll. Every expectation you have about an ultra-luxe Maldives escape comes to life here: stretches of white sand, lagoons of turquoise water, lavish villas, and days spent doing as much or as little as you like.

Your package allows you your choice of room type: Oceanfront Beach Villa, Deluxe Water Villa, Deluxe Sunset Water Villa, or Deluxe Spa Overwater Villa. All room types come with air-conditioning, flatscreen TV, minibar, tea- and coffee-making facilities, hairdryer, in-room safe and telephone.

An Oceanfront Beach Villa is perfect for those wanting to feel the sand beneath their toes with only a few barefoot steps from their door. These villas have views of the azure ocean, king or twin beds, and a set of sunloungers angled towards the water. Prefer the sea to sand? Set your sights one of the three other villa types. These spaces are all perched over the resort lagoon and have a private-use set of steps that lead straight from a sundeck into the sparkling water below. True romantics will find it to go past the end-of-day beauty afforded the Deluxe Sunset Water Villa as the sun sinks into the horizon, and those wanting to really indulge in the lap of luxury will be transfixed by the outdoor spa bathtubs neatly tucked into the deck corner of the Deluxe Spa Overwater Villas.

Day 5: Maldives (B, L, D)

Your first morning waking up in the Maldives – something you are sure to always remember! Those in a Water Villa can remind themselves that they’re not in a dream by diving straight into the ocean from their sundeck, and those staying in the Oceanfront Beach Villa can make the quick trip across the sand to do the same.

Your time at Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa is on an all-inclusive package. Head back to the Oceans restaurant to tuck into the sumptuous international breakfast spread. Buffet lunches and dinners are also featured as part of your package. A three-course lunch is available at the La Brezza and Suan Bua restaurants (reservations must be made in advance in accordance with this Dine Around privilege), and the Middle Eastern-inspired diner, Al Khaimah, is open for a la carte dinners (subject to available credits). Likely to feel peckish in between main meal times? Fresh pastries, fruits and coffee and tea are put on every day in the Viu Bar between 10.30am and 11am, and a sundowner party sees canapes and snacks also laid out for you from 6.30pm to 7.30pm every evening. Wash everything down with a selection of house-pouring sips (local draught beer, some cocktails, red and white wine, certain spirits, soft drinks, juices and more) at the lobby located Giraavaru bar or Viu Bar. The Waves Pool Bar is your go-to for filter coffee and tea. Please note that beverages are available during service hours, which vary between bars.

As with Singapore, your time in the Maldives is your own. Take a dip in the beachfront infinity pool, or paddle to the swim-up bar in the resort’s second pool. Book into SPA Cenvaree and hide away in the pavilions for a Thai-style massage, yoga session, Ayurvedic programme, or manicure and pedicure. There is a fully-equipped gym for those that want to balance out culinary indulgence or just work up a sweat. Plus the E-Zone is equipped with music, DVDs and video games.

Day 6: Maldives (B, L, D)

Now you’ve become acquainted with the resort’s facilities on land, think about devoting a day to exploring the bounty that lies just off shore. The isle is encircled by a brilliant house reef home to species of marine life and coral, and snorkelling gear is available for you to take out. Your all-inclusive package allows gives you use of non-motorised water sport equipment, such as paddle boards, kayaks, canoes and pedal boats. Windsurfing lessons are also available (at additional cost), and PADI Dive Centre caters to beginner and experienced divers alike. Want to see even more of the Maldives beyond this isle? Full-day and half-day excursions can be arranged through the hotel (additional cost applies).

Day 7: Maldives (B, L, D)

Continue revelling in your time in the Maldives. Sleep in, take lazy pool or ocean swims, sip cocktails on the beach, mingle with other guests, snooze in your villa’s sunlounge, and commit as much of this magnificent location to memory as you can.

Day 8: Maldives (B, L, D)

This is your last full day in the Maldives. Take this time to make another appointment at the spa, soak up more Vitamin D, snorkel the house reef again, or pursue whatever takes your fancy.

Day 9: Maldives – airplane-takeoff – Australia (B)

Your time away in the magnificent Maldives draws to a close as you check out of your villa and take the return transfer back to Male. Disembark from the speedboat and head to the airport with time to catch your return flight to Australia.
