Day 1: Australia – airplane-takeoff – Copenhagen

Depart Australia today to begin your incredible Scandinavia adventure!

Day 2: Copenhagen

Arrive to Copenhagen and make your own way to your centrally located hotel. We recommend taking the metro. All the trains go in the same direction from the airport (M2 to Vanløse Station), so you do not have to worry about getting on the wrong train. Tonight, your Webjet tour escort will meet you in the hotel lobby to welcome you to Denmark.

Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital, sits on the coastal islands of Zealand and Amager. It’s linked to Malmo in southern Sweden by the Öresund Bridge. Indre By, the city’s historic center, contains Frederiksstaden, an 18th-century rococo district, home to the royal family’s Amalienborg Palace. Nearby is Christiansborg Palace and the Renaissance-era Rosenborg Castle, surrounded by gardens and home to the crown jewels and home to the crown jewels.

Day 3: Copenhagen – cruise-icon – Norwegian Fjords Cruise (B,D)

This morning is at leisure to explore this great city. Why not explore the city’s centre which has the Christiansborg parliament building and the Renaissance Rosenborg Castle that has a museum of royal artefacts and a popular garden. At the appropriate time, you will be transferred by private coach to the port to board your 7 night MSC Norwegian Fjords Cruise.

Day 4: At Sea (B,L,D) cruise-icon

Enjoy the day at sea on your deluxe ship as it makes its way towards the beautiful Norwegian coast and it’s fjords.

Day 5: Hellesylt/Geiranger (B,L,Dcruise-icon

Today we port in Hellesylt, the cosy little town on the shores of the Geiranger fjord. This fjord is surrounded by some of the steepest mountains on the entire west coast. It is very narrow and has no habitable shore area, for the precipitous heights rise in sheer and rugged strata almost straight out of the water. In 2005, it was listed as. a UNESCO World Heritage Site, jointly with the Nærøyfjorden. Here, you’ll be mesmerized by the beauty of nature. Impressive waterfalls cast cascades of thundering water from almost vertical mountain sides among them the famous falls, De syv søstrene (“the Seven Sisters”), Friaren (“the Suitor”) and Brudesløret (“the Bridal Veil”), and tease the cliffs with feather‐light gossamer veils of mist whose mission seems to be to create a never‐ending display of ever changing rainbows to fill you with delight and wonder. You can also visit one of the strangest glaciers in Europe (optional paid shore excursion), the Briksdal glacier (Briksdalsbreen) Northern Europe introduction, which often baffles experts because of its unconventional “behaviour” in expansion and erosion, often contrary to that of other glaciers at these latitudes.

Day 6: Flåm (B,L,D)  cruise-icon

Overnight to reach Flåm, your MSC cruise ship will navigate into the Sognefjord, the longest of the hundreds of Norwegian fjords. Extending over 204 kilometres and 1,308 metres deep, it is a record breaking fjord in which your ship will head southward, to reach the southern end of the Aurlandsfjord. At this point you’ll see Flåm, amidst mountains of dense forest reaching up to the sky. The landscapes you will admire are truly unique and will make your journey unforgettable. Nature is revealed in its most beautiful and wild landscape, with rock shaped by rivers that form gorges and rifts and waterfalls that plunge down dizzy heights, and, here and there, mountain farms, perched like mountain climbers, where cattle are raised and excellent cheese is produced.

Day 7: Bergen (B,L,D) cruise-icon

Bergen’s maritime tradition is age old and your MSC Cruise of Northern Europe will lay anchor in a setting which exudes history. A visit to the Hanseatic Museum and the Schøtstuene, the merchant navy league assembly will help you get to better know this intriguing town. Håkon Hall in the royal palace built by King Håkon Håkonsson in the mid-14th century and the adjacent Rosenkrantz tower (1270) reflect to this day the power of the Hanseatic League in the Middle Ages. All this can be admired also from above with a ride on the Fløibanen funicular, that takes you up to the peaks of Mount Fløyen, from which it is worth walking down on foot: after crossing landscapes of rare beauty you will find yourself in the lively bustle of the fish market. You can take a walk amidst the wooden homes built on the side of the hill and along the long smau, the narrow passages typical of Bergen.

Day 8: At Sea (B,L,D) cruise-icon

Enjoy the day at sea on your deluxe ship as it makes its way from the beautiful Norwegian fjords.

The ‘Vasa’ is ship and the only preserved seventeenth-century ship in the world, including unique art treasure. More than 95 percent of the ship is original, and it is decorated with hundreds of carved sculptures. We then head to the Royal Palace, one of the largest palaces in Europe!
