Highlights

Take in diverse and dazzling landscapes around New Zealand and then sail to two of Australia’s most historic cities on a 14 day Auckland to Sydney luxury cruise.

Your voyage begins in Auckland where you have one nights’ pre-cruise accommodation ahead of departure. Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city and has a world-renowned reputation for its beautiful harbourfronts – and the number of yachts and boats that bob up and down in these waters. Admire the sweeping outlooks of the city offered from the emblematic Sky Tower or the crater-formed Mount Eden. Familiarise yourself with your sea legs as you board the Celebrity Solstice to begin your cruise. The Celebrity Solstice is a breathtaking award-winning cruise ship that sees passengers hole up in luxury staterooms and make use of resort-class restaurants, entertainment and leisure opportunities. Settle into life on-board as the ship sets out for its first destination, the Bay of Islands in New Zealand’s far north. Appreciate the untouched nature of this region as you undertake either land- or water-based activities for the day – everything from eco-cruises to scenic coastal walks. Your next North Island port is Tauranga, a laid-back city in the Bay of Plenty. Take to one of the white-sand beaches, amble along the waterfront Strand, or indulge with the city’s array of culinary offerings.

Unwind on-board with a full day at sea before arriving into Wellington, the cool-and-compact capital of New Zealand. Head to the summit of Mount Victoria for panoramic photo opportunities, learn about different aspects of NZ’s history at the Te Papa museum, or take a ride up to the Wellington Botanic Garden in the cable car. Movie-buffs will want to make a beeline for the Miramar Peninsula or the Weta Workshop to check out filming locations, props and sets used in Hollywood blockbusters including Lord of the Rings and Thor: Ragnarök. Swap the North Island for the South Island as you arrive in Akaroa, the only French-established town in New Zealand, and then Dunedin, a vibrant city with a rich blend of Scottish and Maori history. Have a day cruising through the famed fjords of Dusky, Doubtful and Milford Sounds – three of New Zealand’s best-known natural landmarks. The cruise itinerary has time in all three fjords, and some of the things to see in these pristine places including powerful waterfalls, looming mountain peaks, rugged cliffs and wildlife ranging from seals to dolphins and whales.

Cross the Tasman Sea with two full days of sailing as the Celebrity Solstice heads towards Hobart, the capital city of Tasmania. Although it may be small, Hobart is brimming with historic sights, buzzing local markets, exceptional eats and plenty of outdoor pursuits. Make the excursion to the summit of Mount Wellington, have your artistic boundaries pushed at the Museum of Old and New Art, or sip brews at the heritage Cascade Brewery. The last leg of your voyage takes you to Sydney. No matter if you know the city for the sails of the Sydney Opera House, the steel of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, or the sands of Bondi Beach; there is something for everyone in the Harbour City.

Day 1: Australia – airplane-takeoff– Auckland

Board your Qantas bound flight to Auckland. Make your way to your hotel and check-in for your one nights’ accommodation ahead of the beginning of your cruise tomorrow.

For those looking to do a spot of shopping, why not make your way to Queen Street, Britomart or Newmarket? Venture out to admire the beauty of Waiheke and Rangitoto Island, and stop by the stunning gardens of Auckland Domain. For panoramic views of the city, head to Auckland’s Sky Tower to peer out across the cityscape below from a staggering 328 metres high above street level.
