Day 1: Australia – – Venice
Make your way to the airport and board your flight that will take you to Venice, the iconic city of canals in Italy.
Day 2: Venice (B, D)
Benvenuto a Venezia! Your flight lands in the city dubbed ‘Queen of the Adriatic’, the departure point for your magnificent cruise aboard the glittering MSC Musica. Make your own way to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day exploring Venice at your leisure before your cruise sets sail tomorrow.
Day 3: Venice (B, D)
The ship remains docked until 5pm this evening. Once you have settled into your cabin you can use any remaining time to get out and see what you can of Venice before returning to the ship for departure.
Day 4: Split (B, L, D)
The MSC Musica is scheduled to arrive into the Croatian port city of Split at 8am. This is the second-largest city in Croatia and is home to ruins dating back to the heyday of Ancient Rome. It also has a pretty waterfront promenade, excellent seafood restaurants, and an imposing backdrop of the Dalmatian mountains. Use your day in Split to see the enormous Diocletian’s Palace and the historic Saint Domnius Cathedral, or explore the area around the Riva Harbour.
Day 5: At Sea (B, L, D)
Your first full day at sea is the perfect opportunity to acquaint yourself further with the facilities and opportunities offered aboard the MSC Musica. This elegant cruise liner comes boasting swanky bars and lounges, casino room, library, theatre, day spa, pool areas, and a number of restaurants where you can take breakfast, lunch and dinner (all included in your package!). Get to know the deck plans and lay out of the ship, scope out the menus at each of the eateries, or mingle with fellow passengers.
Day 6: Heraklion (B, L, D)
Heraklion is the capital of the Greek isle of Crete. It also goes by the name of Iraklio, and is most well-known by visitors for the Palace of Knossos (also known as the Palace of Minos). This sprawling archaeological site is located just outside the city and is one of the main attractions on the island. Other things to do with your day in Heraklion is wander the Old Town area, explore the Venetian harbour and historic fortress, walk along one of the white sandy beaches, or find a local hole-in-the-wall tavern to savour authentic Greek food.
Day 7: Rhodes (B, L, D)
Delve into the history of Rhodes today. The largest of Greece’s Dodecanese Islands has a rich and fascinating legacy, including having been occupied by the Knights of St. John during the Crusades. Take a walk along the medieval Street of the Knights in the Old Town, and discover the Palace of the Grand Masters as well as some of the neighbouring mosques and hammams. Head up the Clock Tower for a gorgeous outlook of the azure Aegean Sea. The countryside is also dotted with charming traditional villages, vineyards and even a 15th-century castle.
Days 8: At Sea – Suez Canal Transit (B, L, D)
The day is spent sailing until late this evening when the MSC Musica begins its transit through the Suez Canal. This waterway connects the Mediterranean and Red Seas, and has been used as a direct route between Europe and Asia since its construction in the mid-19th century.
Day 9: At Sea – Suez Canal Transit (B, L, D)
Continue moving through the Suez Canal today, and enjoying the amenitites on-board your cruise.
Day 10: Aqaba (B, L, D)
Port is made in Aqaba, a resort city in Jordan, at about 9am this morning. The Red Sea waters off Aqaba boast some of the most incredible diving sites in Jordan, and there are ample water sports opportunities and beach resorts for those that don’t want to don a full wet suit and oxygen tank. History-lovers may want to check out Aqaba Fortress, and those interested in learning more about Jordanian culture can visit the Sharif Hussein bin Ali Mosque.
Day 11: Eilat (B, L, D)
Move from one popular Red Sea resort town to another as you sail around the coast from Aqaba to Eilat in Israel. Thanks to its calm currents, the waters off the Eilat shore are teeming with vibrant coral reefs and marine life, including sea turtles, anemones, shoals of fish and even dolphins. Rent a snorkel or diving gear to explore Coral Reef Nature Reserve. Remain on dry land to ascend the summit of Mount Yoash, soak up the sun on Mosh Beach, or head away from the main city to discover the magical Hidden Lake.
Day 12: At Sea (B, L, D)
MSC Musica begins its route away from Europe and the Middle East towards the superb Indian Ocean, and the next few days are spent entirely at sea. Take this ideal opportunity to truly unwind, either holing up in your cabin or making use of the leisure facilities aboard.
Days 13 – 18: At Sea (B, L, D)
Use this time to capitalise on the line-up of leisure and entertainment on-board. Attend tribute, dramatic and musical performances inside the Teatro dell’Opera (bookings required for evening shows), or look up the ship’s daily schedule of activities to attend things like dance lessons, language-learning sessions, card games, early morning aerobics, and even bingo. There is also the arcade if virtual gaming is your thing, or you can test your luck with a roll of the dice at one of the tables inside the Casino.
In the mood for a new outfit now that you’re one day out from stepping foot into a new destination? Browse the racks at boutiques for pieces to add to your cruising wardrobe, or have your eye taken by all things that glitter and sparkle inside the ship’s jewellery and accessories store. Two other shops – Logo and a duty-free offering – are also aboard for those wanting to indulge in additional retail therapy.
Up the ante on relaxation mode by giving in to the MSC Musica’s indulgent pampering offerings. Book in for a divine treatment in the MSC Spa therapy rooms, or stretch out on one of the daybeds inside the Relax Room. There is also a Turkish bath and steam room, and fully-equipped gymnasium for those travellers that prefer to work up a sweat. Those in need of Vitamin D can seek out the lounges at the Top 16 Exclusive Solarium.
Perhaps have a lazy morning with a lie-in in your cabin before heading to the sumptuous breakfast buffet. Passengers that prefer to eat in their cabins can even request a continental breakfast be delivered to their door (room service style).
Day 19: Port Victoria (B, L, D)
It’s time to stretch your legs after those days at sea as the MSC Musica arrives into Port Victoria in the Seychelles. Port Victoria is the low-key capital of this pristine archipelago and is home to an energetic Creole culture, as well as a covered seafood market, French-inspired eateries and architecture, lush botanic gardens, and an interesting National Museum of History. The MSC Musica docks in Port Victoria overnight.
Day 20: Port Victoria (B, L, D)
Have another day to immerse yourself in the charm and culture of Port Victoria. Departure time is scheduled for 6pm.
Days 21 – 22: At Sea (B, L, D)
You have the next two days at sea as the MSC Musica voyages to its next destination within the Indian Ocean. Continue to laze about on one of the ship’s sundecks, attend a performance at the theatre, indulge with world-class cuisine at the great restaurants, or cosy up with a read in the library.
Day 23: Port Louis (B, L, D)
Say bonjour this morning to Port Louis, the capital city of Mauritius. Embrace the Francophile atmosphere, from the colonial-touched cityscape to the French-influenced cuisine. Head to the buzzing Central Market to get a taste of local life or pick up some keepsakes to bring back home with you, or visit some of the interesting museums such as the Blue Penny Museum, the Photography Museum or the Mauritius Postal Museum. Wander along Place d’Armes, or explore the British side to Port Louis’ history at Fort Adelaide.
Day 24: Port Louis (B, L, D)
Missed out on seeing or doing something in Port Louis yesterday? The MSC Musica remains docked in port until about 5pm, so there is ample time to tick off those to-dos you haven’t yet experienced.
Day 25: La Possession (B, L, D)
Your final port within the Indian Ocean is La Possession on Reunion Island. La Possession sits between the island’s capital of Saint-Denis and the commune of Le Port. The area surrounding La Possession is brimming with hiking trails, beautiful beaches and waterfalls. Seek out a nearby lookout point for a great vantage of Piton des Neiges, or make a beeline for Saint-Denis for the capital’s museums, monuments and eateries.
Days 26 – 28: At Sea (B, L, D)
The next three days of the itinerary are dedicated to sailing, as the ship sets out on the final leg of its journey towards Africa. Make the most of your remaining days aboard by squeezing in treatments at the day spa, rolls of the dice in the casino, favourite cocktails at the bars and lounges, and laps in the whirlpool.
Day 29: Durban – – Kruger National Park (B, D)
MSC Musica arrives into Durban in South Africa at about 7am this morning. Disembark at the appropriate time and then be met by a transfer who will take you to the local airport to board a quick domestic flight to an airport near Kruger National Park. A transfer to your luxury accommodation awaits and will see you taken to the lodge for check in. You have the next three nights at the lodge and your time here includes daily breakfast plus sumptuous three-course dinners every evening.
Day 30: Kruger National Park (B, D)
You have this morning as leisure time to relax at the lodge and chat with other guests. This evening, board a safari vehicle for a spectacular sunset game drive through Kruger National Park. This excursion offers a front-row seat to spotting some of the park’s nocturnal residents – honey badger, porcupine, serval and sidestriped jackal, among others.
Day 31: Kruger National Park (B, D)
Set an early alarm because you’re not going to want to miss this morning’s spectacular full-day game drive through the park. Have your camera poised and ready to go as you journey through this legendary landscape on the lookout for some of the park’s most famous critters, including the Africa Big 5 – lion, leopard, elephant, Cape buffalo and rhinoceros. This experience is your window into seeing these animals in their natural habitat, and your expert guide will be on-hand to answer any questions you have about the animals you see and the wider park. The game drive lasts between six to eight hours, and you are returned to the lodge in the afternoon. Tonight is the final night of your tour and is a great opportunity to reminisce about your travels over a magnificent dinner with your fellow guests.
Day 32: Kruger National Park – – Johannesburg – – Australia (B)
You will be picked up from the lodge at the necessary time and transferred to the airport for your flight to Johannesburg. You then catch your connecting flight to begin the return journey back to Australia.

Arrive back in Australia today.
